On November 8, 1519, in the year One-Reed of the Aztec Calendar, Hernán Cortés arrived in the great city of Tenochtitlán, the capital of the Aztec Empire, and the site of modern-day México City. The meeting between Cortés and the Aztec Emperor Moctezuma would change the world forever. |

In this program, British writer and historian Michael Wood traces the steps of Hernán Cortés from the time when he lands on the shores of México, through the conquest of the city of Tenochtitlán.
