The Spanish 4 Honors Final Examination is divided in two parts. Part One consists of 100 Scantron® questions. You will need a #2 pencil for this section. Part Two consists of sentence and short-answer questions. You will need a blue or black ink pen to complete this section.

In order to be well prepared for this examination, thoroughly study lessons 4 and 5 of the Nuevas Vistas textbook. This examination will test you on the literature and the grammar of these chapters. Do not forget the vocabulary lists that begin each one of the readings.

PART ONE

The following topics will be covered in the first part of the examination:

Vocabulary from chapters 4-5
Readings in Spanish followed by questions about each
The subjunctive in nominal clauses
Present perfect subjunctive
Present subjunctive in adjectival clauses
Prepositions
The architecture of the Hispanic World
Adverbial clauses
Imperfect subjunctive

PART TWO

Part two of the examination covers grammar points studied in class, as well as questions pertaining to the articles/short stories that we have read and studied during the semester. These include:

Relative pronouns
Prepositions
«Tiempo Libre»
«Chac Mool»
«Enero: tortas de navidad»
«El hijo»

NB: Part Two of this examination is to be completed on the answer sheet provided.

In order to be exempt from the Spanish Four Honors Examination you must have an average of 85 or above in the second semester, with an average of 85 or better in the fourth quarter.
