The Spanish 3 Midterm Examination is divided in two parts. Part One consists of 100 Scantron® questions. You will need a #2 pencil for this section. Part Two consists of sentence and short-answer questions. You will need a blue or black ink pen to complete this section.

In order to be well prepared for this examination, thoroughly study lessons 1 and 2 of the Exprésate textbook. This examination will test you on the grammar and vocabulary of these chapters. You are responsible for all information we have covered on pages 1-87 of the textbook.

PART ONE

The following topics will be covered in the first part of the examination:

Vocabulary from chapters 1-2
Two readings in Spanish, followed by questions about each one
Imperfect tense
Preterite vs. Imperfect
Ser vs. Estar
Present Subjunctive vs. Present Indicative
Present Subjunctive of regular and irregular verbs
Combination of Object Pronouns
Demonstrative adjectives
Comparissons

PART TWO

The following will be covered in the second part of the examination:

Two reading selections with questions to be answered.
Accentuation and syllabification of Spanish words.
You will write a composition on a specific subject.

NB: Part Two of this examination is to be completed on the answer sheet provided.
