The Spanish 4 Final Examination is divided in two parts. The first part consists of 100 Scantron® questions. You will need a #2 pencil for this section. The second part consists of grammar, readings, translations, short-answer questions, and a short composition. You will need a blue or black ink pen to complete this section.

In order to be well prepared for this examination, thoroughly study lessons one to four of the Horizontes textbook. Do not forget the cultural material presented therein.

PART ONE

The following topics will be covered in the first part of the examination:

Vocabulary words and expressions
Correct form to translate the expression "to ask."
Por vs. Para
Reflexive verbs
Negative expressions
The Preterite versus Imperfect tense
The Preterite tense
Saber versus Conocer
The Conditional and Future tenses
Readings followed by multiple choice questions

PART TWO

Part two of the examination covers many grammar and cultural points studied in class. These include:

Grammar correction questions
Sentence completion questions
Translation questions
Composition writing
A reading followed by questions

NB: Part Two of this examination is to be completed on the answer sheet provided.

In order to be exempt from the Spanish Four Examination you must have an average of 85 or above in the second semester, with an average of 85 or better in the fourth quarter.
