The Spanish 3 Honors Final Examination is a cumulative assessment of the third year of Spanish honors language study at Xavier High School. In order to prepare for the exam please study and review the twelve chapters of the Breaking the Spanish Barrier Textbook. In particular, you should review with greater care the vocabulary, grammar and culture that is found on chapters 7 to 12 of your book.

Also, the examination will cover various literary and cultural topics that were studied during the second half of the year.

Part One

Part One consists of 100 Scantron® questions to be completed with a #2 pencil. Part One is made up of a series of questions which tests your knowledge of Spanish grammar and vocabulary. There are sentence completions, as well as several reading comprehension passages. Cultural questions about the countries studied in the second semester will also appear on this section of the exam. Part One of the examination is worth 50 points.

Part Two

The answers to Part Two are to be written in ink on the Answer sheet provided. In this part you are to answer questions pertaining to various cultural topics that we studied during the second part of the year. In particular, part two will concentrate on the following topics: César Vallejo, Simón Bolívar, El jardín de las delicias, and the short story «Una carta a Dios» by Gregorio López y Fuentes. Part Three

In this section you will answer questions about the short story «El almohadón de plumas» by Horacio Quiroga. Click on the link to get you back to the original internet assignment regarding this topic. The questions in this section must be answered in Spanish, in full sentences. This section of the exam is worth 20 points.
