About Ms. Garcia's class

Discipline Statement

Being a teacher to me is much more then just teaching my students the equation of a line or how to you use the Pythagorean Theorem.
Being a teacher to me is shaping the minds of our youth for the
future so that one day they can make logical life decisions without
regret. I believe that control in the classroom is best accomplished
not through a dictatorship but by only through the act of practical
diligence in an organized lesson, can leadership emerge.

At the beginning of each year I have set rules for every student that
I expect to be followed, from writing up their homework, seating
arrangement, to behavior. Coming to class late and missing class is unacceptable.

I certainly understand that people live different lives and learn
different routines but I believe that does not mean anyone is
inferior or superior to the next. Therefore I expect nothing but the
best from each and every one of my students.

My intention is that every student that walks into my classroom not be afraid to
ask questions to seek for the right answers. They will strive as independent
leaders knowing that within risk taking greatness is achieved.

I aim to let my students know that through my passion and my endless devotion
I am here for them. I am willing to go the extra mile so that they understand
the logic in mathematics within hopes that they bring it into their everyday lives.

As I learn about each individual’s personality, structure and discipline most
importantly will be taught in my classroom. These young men will develop with
pride, respect and accountability as they are taught with such high regards.
From the beginning of class to the end, I want them to know that everyday is a new
adventure and depending on how you approach life, you can make a positive or negative difference.

My goal is for my students to Thinkfinitely, be able to think with endless possibilities in learning.
