Lab Report Guidelines

 

Due: The Friday the week following the end of the lab

Grading: Each report is worth 100 pts.

For each of the labs and challenges, you will need to submit a formal lab report. Please hand it in to Mr. Chiafulio on or before the due date.

Format

  1. The report must be typewritten, single-spaced, not more than 12 point font.
  2. The heading should include my name, lab number and name, team number, team members' names, and the date.
  3. Figures may be neatly hand-drawn or computer-drawn. They must be consecutively numbered and have a meaningful legend.
  4. Correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation must be observed in the text, figures, and figure legends.
  5. Avoid the use of "we" or "our" in the report.

Content

  1. Introduction: Summarize the lab assignment and your approach and design.
  2. Lab Specific Parts: Depending on the lab assignment, write up each part: analysis and discussion. Each lab will have its own specific instructions on what to put in this part of your report.
  3. Make Sure to Include:
    1. A sketch or digital photo of your robot.
    2. At least one flowchart for your software design.
    3. All source code as an appendix (6 pt. font). This should be neatly done.
  4. Conclusion: Summarize the lab assignment and state any additional comments.
